Who We Are

Eric Mathis Releasing is the distribution arm of Eric Mathis Films. It was built by filmmaker Eric Mathis as a direct line between his work and the audience, without anyone in the middle taking control or siphoning the rewards.

Eric Mathis Films has grown into a multi award winning production company through stubborn work, smart promotion, and a refusal to wait for permission. Eric Mathis Releasing is the natural next step. It exists so our films can reach the world on our terms, with clear reporting, honest accounting, and respect for the people who actually made the movies.

Why We Exist

This company was born out of the same fire that has burned so many independent filmmakers. Predatory distribution deals. Hidden “marketing” charges. Streaming placements that look good on paper but never move the needle. Long contracts, no transparency, and in the end, no real payment for years of work.

Eric asked a simple question:

Do we really need a middleman to upload our films to streaming platforms, tack on fake advertising fees, keep the profits, and then never pay the artists who created the work?

The answer was no.

Every real win we have had has come from doing the work ourselves. Touring the films. Building fans one screening at a time. Promoting smart, not blindly. Eric Mathis Films has never needed anyone to validate its existence, and Eric Mathis Releasing follows the same philosophy.

This is our line in the sand.

We will not hand over our films to companies that treat them as disposable content. We will not sign away control and hope someone else cares as much as we do. We will build our own path, release our own films, and prove that independent filmmakers can protect their work and still reach a global audience.
