The Legacy of Grime House Films

Grime House Films was the brainchild of filmmaker Eric Mathis, launched at the start of his career and carrying over the name from his earlier work in music production. Under the Grime House Films banner, Eric would go on to write, produce, and direct his first two feature films — The Macabre and Infernal — both of which earned awards at multiple film festivals.

From day one, Grime House Films stood for fearless, independent, and original horror — films that pushed boundaries and built a loyal fanbase that stretched across the globe. With small budgets and ultra-short shooting schedules, the odds were stacked against us. But what would have been insurmountable obstacles for most productions became the proving ground where our team thrived. Against all challenges, we delivered award-winning films through pure creativity, grit, and determination.

The DIY spirit, the relentless work ethic, and the unwavering commitment to making bold, uncompromising cinema defined Grime House Films. These values not only shaped our identity — they propelled us into a new era. That same spirit of innovation and resilience led us to retire the Grime House Films name and launch Eric Mathis Films — a larger, more ambitious brand with the resources to tackle major projects and reach even greater heights.

While the name has changed, the foundation remains. The lessons learned, the bonds forged, and the creative fire that burned within Grime House Films will continue to fuel our success in this next chapter.

To every cast member, crew member, supporter, and fan who helped us along the way: we salute you. You are forever part of the Grime House Films family.

The Macabre – Horror Anthology

After a seemingly innocuous party trick spirals into something unthinkable, each guest at a twisted gathering becomes ensnared in a sinister game — a high-stakes ritual of life and death orchestrated by an ancient demon. Bound to participate, they must each recite their most horrifying story as the demon’s grip tightens, revealing nightmarish truths and dark secrets.
With every confession, the lines of reality shift, propelling them deeper into a macabre reality from which escape seems impossible.

This unnerving anthology delivers horror in sharp, shocking bursts—where every tale turns the mirror toward human depravity and fate’s cruel mercy. The Macabre isn’t just a film; it’s a psychological gauntlet, challenging what we fear, what we hide, and how our darkest stories define us.

Awards won:

"BEST CULT FILM" The Macabre - Shockfest

"Best Trailer" INfernal - Shockfest

"Best Horror Feature" INfernal - Clout International Film Fest

INfernal

In the decaying shadows of “Small Town, USA,” three lifelong friends—Tiretool (the hardcore metalhead), Mikey (the hip-hop devotee weighed down by his overbearing mother), and Eric (the quiet metal nerd stuck in a toxic home)—find themselves craving something more than the night they’ve always lived.

Their wish arrives in the form of a rare, ominous heavy‑metal record rumored to summon the Devil. In a reckless mix of curiosity and aspiration, they perform the ritual—and it works. A demonic pact grants each of their darkest desires… but with a murderous catch. Their bodies and fates twist in horrifying directions: Mikey faces a devilish romantic nightmare, and Eric’s craving for power mutates into a monstrous crime against his own friend.

Realizing their horror, the trio is thrust into a tightrope between hope and damnation—forced to solve a cryptic riddle in under 13 hours to save their souls. Guided by an unlikely ally, the devout Mormon Chad, and hunted through a town warped by demonic incarnations, they confront ghouls, meth-addled locals, and their inner demons.

“Infernal” is an adrenaline‑fueled Faustian nightmare set to a heavy‑metal roar—a darkly comedic, over‑the‑top battle for survival, redemption, and the remorseless question: What are you willing to sacrifice when destiny demands your soul?
